Launch of Peace and Sustainability Education Initiatives and theMovement for Ontario Day of Peace

UNACTO presented Julia Morton-Marr, founding President of the International Holistic Tourism Education Centre (IHTEC) & founder of the International School Peace Gardens, who is one of nine Canadians nominated for the ‘1000 PeaceWoman Across the Globe, Nobel Peace Prize in 2005’, to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. UNACTO promoted “Ontario Day of Peace ” along various displays of peace and sustainability education achieved by various local NGO’s, communities, schools, experts and educators. The showcase included IHTEC, Science for Peace, Canadian Pugwash, Global Issues Project; Canadian Voice of Women for Peace, C-Cave, and the Education Alliance for a Sustainable Ontario (EASO). Members of Provincial Parliament, International Ambassadors, along with representatives from government and other organizations, totaling close to 200 supporters, attended the launch.
